Dr. Richard Gilkison was raised in the San Gabriel Valley and completed his Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Whittier College.
He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree with high honors (Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society) in 1989 at Southern California College of Optometry. He has 27 years of patient experience and up-to-date knowledge of modern prescribing techniques necessary for optimum vision and eye health. This encompasses family eye care, contact lens designing and eye-conditions such as allergic conjunctivitis, red-eye and various levels of dry eye. He emphasizes preventative care for glaucoma, diabetes and macular degeneration. Returning back to the valley, Dr. Gilkison looks forward to contributing his attention to care and detail as well as contributing to the community's livelihood. In his leisure time he enjoys road trips with his family, and mixing in some golf.
